boost elbow loose on 96 2nd gen p pump

Guys so working on truck last night. Doing my research on pump tuning, and just going over things on the truck. I noticed this is loose like I can wiggle it side to side a fair bit. I assume this is getting air into it.

Trying to figure out effects this will have on the truck. Seems like it would be a boost leak and would affect boost pressure on the truck? I am going to pull it off this weekend and see if i cant fix it or what needs to be fixed. thought id ask the experts though hoping this didnt harm the truck in any way. It does have trouble reaching top speed on freeway and is very sluggish in top end.

Manifold pressure feeds into the straight part of the "T", feeding the wastegate and AFC. Boost elbow adjusts signal to wastegate to delay it's opening. AFC limits fueling based on boost, less pressure = less fuel. So if the AFC is bleeding pressure off it won't allow full fueling.
