would intake heater not working cause loss of mileage
i am going to watch for a voltage drop. I get a lot of white smoke at first and it smells like theres a lot of unburned fuel. it smells that way even when its not cold. when its sitting idling, the fumes will about kill ya. my truck only gets about 13 mpg.

It sounds like you have an injector sticking open.Try to get a mechanics' stethescope and put it on each injector.this might help, might not, but it's a start. Your intake heater should not have any effect on mileage, it only heats the air going into the engine while its cold and usually doesn't run for very long, but keep an eye on your volt guage and you should be able too see when it kicks on.

I would also guess a stuck injector. Also it could be that the timing has slipped a little. There have been cases of the timing falling behind on the P7100 pumps. Maybe have a good tune up done (or do it yourself) with timing, fuel pressures, valve lash etc..

Good Luck..

J-eh
