Windshield Wiper Bushing Replacement

Driving home last night during a flash flood watch (we only got 1.4" though) my drivers side wiper started making that joyous cautionary noise and ending on the windshield at different spots. A few miles before home the linkage came apart and I lost the drivers side. Finally made it home after removing a few large limbs off the road...
Glad to find this thread. I've always done it the hard way and swapped bushings while still installed on the truck. Lots of cussing skinned knuckles and blood letting. This time gonna try it this way with the assembly removed. And the silicone spray JMartin suggests.

Pay attention to the L and the R stamped on the pivots when you reinstall them, I somehow got them reversed and I swear it was wiping my side window.

keep Rain X on your windshield. I drove home the other day in a downpour, and never turned the wipers on.

Love rain x, just don’t like the permanent smudge it tends to leave on glass

I've always put a dab of grease on the new bushings, and never had another problem
