I have a 2000 dually,i'm running 315's with 8 ply tires in the front. I want to put 10 ply on for better wear and hopefully I can get more miles out of them. My question is which tire brand would you guys recommend. If I'm going to spend the big bucks, I'd like to get the best deal I can. I don't do any offroading. Thanks

I really liked my toyo ATs I did buy a new set of Micheline for my 01 but I will be buying a new set for my 90 and they will be the TOYOs again ,I just like the feel better and they ran 5 years 70k miles flat across with just a couple rotations

Just a quick point: there are no actual different number of plies according to load rating. Many folks think C=6, D=8 & E=10. The only difference is the structural rigidity of the sidewall which coincides with the load capacity. Not a difference in number of plies. Just a pet pieve of mine, kinda like when folks refer to anything that is powered by internal combustion as a "motor". Engines are powered by fuel & motors are powered by electric. Someone once asked me what kind of motor I had in my truck and of course & had to ask if they were asking about soleniods or a fuel pump. I'm just saying...

Thanks for the reply, I didn't know if I should go with a 10 ply , so I could pump them up to 80-100 psi. I figured with the two on the front that the weight of the engine the truck would roll easier down the road and get a little bit more fuel mileage. Tires on the front wear out really fast. I can't rotate the tires because the wheels on the front are a little different than the back. Anybody have a preference on tread design?

I think I am going to Yokos next. I put geolander ATs on my wifes crv. a couple of the tires took less than .5 oz. and the rear driver took NO weight! balanced perfect on the machine, couldnt believe it. Seems that their quality control is A+.

Been seeing a lot of yoko tires on 3/4 and 1 ton rigs lately.

i put geolanders on all my vehicals. no added weights i just use balance packs in all of them. the packs are the way to go. no more white rust on your rims.

Any major tire store should price match to tirerack.com. They'll add in the shipping but still come in hundreds lower than their in-store price.... Still love my Yoko Geolandar HT/S rubber. They start out whisper quiet but get a little louder as you wear down the slots and slits (in a non-gender biased, politically correct sort of way, of course)....

I would look for something with a solid tread on the outer lug near the sidewall, this will help to keep it from cupping, nitto advertises such a tire on the back cover of magazines, looks like your gonna have trouble finding a street tire in that size.
