Wheres this wire go?
Finally stuffing my engine back into the truck (2005) and there is one wire that lost its tag and I cant seem to place were it goes.
connected to the left side of the fusebox is a little housing that has a positive wire run into it from the battery, I beleive it is there to provide power to the fuse box. Out of this little housing going down and inboard is a red wire, the only one to come out of it. If you follow that wire back about 12 inches it goes thru a connector, another 8-10 inches and a black fairly heavy guage wire (10 maybe?) T's out of the loom. Its about 2 feet long and has a ring connector on the end that would fit a 5/16 or 1/4 bolt thru it. The wire is labeled ES-3. I think it grounds to the battery but it just doesnt seem right and i dont want to risk any ecm damage. If anyone would be kind enough to run out to their truck and have a quick peek that would be great. You shouldnt have to remove anything. Hopefully someone can help me out as I cant find it in the alldata and it will be the only thing holding me from making smoke tommorrow afternoon. thanls for the help.

The positive wire from the battery comes down to the left side of the fuse box then turns up into the bottom of a little plastic cover..type thing.... Were that positive wire goes in another red wire is connected. That other, smaller red wire is the one that Im following to my mystery wire. Is the plug on your filter canister a single wire connector?

Turns out it was a ground. Rolled the key to run and I could hear a relay clicking repeatedly so I just struck it across the ground real quick and it stopped it. Thanks for the help tho, Really appreciate it. And good luck with that motor. This thing was worse then any cat ive worked on, only way it could have sucked more is if it was a ford or a volvo.
