Whats wrong?

Ok, this has been going on since last summer. I start the truck and it typically sits for 2 or 3 mins while I get things together for the day. When I take off, for the first 5 or 6 miles I get random dead pedal. If I slap the ignition back off and back to on it takes off only to come back in a minute or 2. After the truck is warm it will do it but as the truck slows and downshifts it comes back to life. The codes I get are PCU-18899,0460,1492,1693,done,ECU,1693,0216. I know it is probably my inj pump but is there anything else in addition or otherwise that would cause this?

Unfortunately, I really believe your VP-44 is on it's way out.

I figured so. It has just been going on so long. Should I ride it out?

You can. But as sure as there is a God, it'll leave you stranded someplace out in the boondocks. If you know a tow truck driver or have AAA, that wouldn't be such a big deal. Anything other than that, it'll be a real PITA.

I have a buddy who says quote, " why bother fixing it in the nice warm shop, it's much easier to do it by the side of the road". Translation... preventive maintenance is better than reactive maintenance and you get to choose when and where.

Before you replace your VP44 make sure your LP is working with a FP gauge. You don't want to kill your new VP.
