I Just Got Through Installing The 366 Spring.
Thought I Did It Alright But It Will Only Idle. If You Touch The Throttle It Will Die. I Let It Warm Up And It's Still The Same. This Is My Work Truck Any Help Is Apprecated. |

glad you got it going! seems to become a common issue when taking the pump top off. indexing is a big deal! pay attention to where the marks line up before you remove the linkage.

I don't see a reason to take linkage off.To change out govener spring.
However the teeth were so fine I thought I had it index right (like how it came off) BUT the eyes aren't what they use to be. |

apparently you dont have to take the throttle linkage off. i didnt know that until i was done too
that would have saved me a lot of hassle. its nice once you get it right though huh? have fun

no you don't have to remove the linkage. however, while the top's coming off, it's a good idea to replace the o-ring on the throttle shaft. i replaced every o-ring i possibly could when i did mine just for the added assurance.
