Transmision Problem?

I was in stop and go traffic for about 1/2 hr. no problems. Traffic finally sped up to 45mph, at that speed my truck shifted into overdrive as usual then started shifting in and out of overdrive. It did this till I could increase my speed to 48-50 mph. My transmission has always seemed strong and gives a good kick when I put it in gear. Any help would be appreciated.

Exclamation

If any of you have any ideas they would be appreciated. I want to be well informed before I walk into a transmission shop.

Check fluid level if you have not already done so...
I do not know exactly what to look for on the 24 valve trucks. on a 12 valve, that would be a likely symptom of a throttle position sensor or TV cable.

If you need (hopefully you will not at this point) the transmission replaced, make sure you give Dave Goerend (Goerend Brothers Transmission) and/or ATS a call. That will make sure you don't find yourself buying more than one new transmission.

Good luck and hopefully someone with some knowledge on a 24 valve will step in here to answer this question.

clean battery terminals, doo apps reset...if that dont work, u might have to check your pcm grounding contacts... if that dont work, u might need noise filter from dtt, if all else fails u need to go get a reflash....try these in the order provided.

Sounds normal to me. 45 is just just high enough to shift into OD but not quite enough to keep it there so it bounces around. That's why I always lock OD out on mine until I can maintain a speed above 55-60. Do the APPS reset and leave OD off and you'll be good to go.

install a noise filter and ground the ecm. I had the same issue and that fixed it instantly.

My problem has ceased; I disconnected the batteries this morning tried to get it to do it, but it worked just fine. Could some one explain what the noise filter purpose is and how it works.

seem my reply above, do all the fixes, then replace the alt and or batteries as indicated before you need a torque converter, most fixes last 1 to 10 days, probably batteries, P>S> they may test good, dont matter!
