what do you guys think I'll put down? My truck has the stock 160HP pump, bhaf, 4 inch straight pipe, #10 plate full forward, 3k gov springs, and I normally hit a high of 38PSI of boost.

Jeff, I'd guess you'll make 260 give or take a little. Those stock injectors don't flow a whole lot, and with 38psi, you're a little high on the turbo map. That hot air'll hurt you some. Kinda depends on how your ATS is acting. If the dyno operator can keep it locked up, etc.
That's my ignorant .02....

First, hop in your truck....bring your key. Insert into ignition and turn.....wait for the "wait to start light" to go out.......
Ohhhhh, not that? Ok, what purged said. It's not to hard. I have not been to the shop myself but am familiar with the area. North Alabama on the I-65 side you'd want to cut over I-840, you'll take 840 towards Murfresboro, Knoxville. When 840 runs into I-24 get on I-24 and you want to go towards Nashville, get off on Sam Ridley Pkwy and go towards the right. That'll put you on the right track. Basically north of Nashville, you'll want to catch I-24 East or towards Chattanooga. I'm pretty sure once your on Sam Ridley you'll pass the airport and you'll be making a left turn down there. If you get to the Nissan plant, you've gone to far. NOW DYNO Specifics I had a good talk with Chris today(dyno guy) and he said he could probably do 15 trucks, but we'll stick with our 10 for now and if we can run more he said he don't mind staying a bit later, but don't want to be there til' midnight. Trucks can run 3-4 times, if you want to adjust your many computer gadgets to different settings he said that would be cool as long as you have it planned out. If you plan on making more adjustments, tuning, talking to him about the run etc, etc and it starts to take more and more time he said there would be a 1 hour charge or around $115. Am I making any sense? Basically he was calling them baseline runs for $75, but did say that would be 3-4 attempts and your edge, smarty....or combo adjustments were cool. I'll have him explain it more clearly on the day. More or less if you plan on being on the dyno for an hour fiddling...it'll cost you more. Duallies....not sure if we have any but he wanted me to stress to any dually guys to make sure your inner tires are in good condition, aired up properly because your inner tire will be on the roller and your outer wheel will be getting a free ride. So make sure them tires are up to pressure and good. I will bring my grill I will also get 6-8 pounds of hamburger and make some burgers. WE will need - buns, hot dogs(maybe 2-3packs), brats??, chips, ketchup, mustard, relish, cheese, anyone feel like slicing onions or tomatoes? Of course plates, plastic utensils. I thought the drinks and such could be left up to each person, I'll bring a cooler for my prefered drink and I'll get the charcoal. If this sounds good pick your choice and let me or Mark know......I just nominated him....guess I better tell him!! If you'd rather run down and buy ya some Wendy's that fine to. Now for the confusion....I'll get emails, what do you want me to bring. If you decide I'll bring ketchup, well then your the condiment person and you can bring the relish and the mustard....feel like slicing tomatoes and onions?? We can have one person as "chip guy", "hot dog and brat guy", "plate and fork, spoon and knife guy" and of course, heres to you "condiment guy", don't forget the cheese!! Oh and lets not forget....."bun guy" and of course "fire guy" which would be me. Anyone got some good grilling tools? Mark?? I have a great grill and no tools.....hmmmmm, how'd that happen. |

Oh, and here is a link to yahoo for a map that I looked up. Looks like you'll turn left on Weakley drive. Sam Ridley runs all the way down there.

Hey, any of you guys computer savy? Since Streetsmoker is gonna be out of the area I figured we could catch his dyno run on video and maybe put it on here, but I know our little camera can only do 30 second vid clips, then it would probably take me a month of trying to figure out how to get it on a vid site to post it....etc, etc. Also could use a club photographer for the event if anyone is interested.

Wow, where is everyone? Well, bright and early tomorrow morning(2am) I'm headed out to Leesburg Georgia and then south west of Albany Georgia to pick up that tractor for my friend, then back to Leesburg where I may or may not head back home the same day. Hauling my one friends tool box down, he's been storing it at my house and figured this would be a great time to get his toolbox to him. Put a serpentine belt on the truck today, it was cracked pretty bad. You could see the cracks coming through the other side, at least I got my moneys worth on that one. Put my Schaeffers in, new oil/fuel filters, topped off differential.
I stopped by the Cat scales tonight with the truck and trailer(from work) and weighed in at 10,500ish. With my 7k utility trailer my combined is around 8500#'s, this trailer weighs a bunch!! It's a 14k bumper pull with electric brakes, which I replaced today.....all 4 brake assemblies. I guess after I load the tractor I'll stop by some scales on the way back just to see where I am at. My rear axle tonight was at 3500 so I figure I have around 3000#'s on the rear and around 1000 or 1500 on the front. The tractor I'm hauling weighs around 5000#'s so I'll be way under my GCWR of 20,000#'s. I can't wait to see how she does on Mt. Eagle on the way back!! |
