Re:TIMMING 24 VALVE CTD.

The Timing on your 24valve ISB is electronic.
Your Crank, Cam and Fuel pump gears are zeroed with each other at the factory when installed and your fuel pump has a tooth (pump specific) that is timed to the gear train/assembly.

I would start with checking fuel pressure from the lift pump, a weak or dead lift pump will cause a crappy idle and low power.

--Justin

Re:TIMMING 24 VALVE CTD.

I believe pre filter pressure should be around 12 to 14 at idle and around 6 to 10 running at around 2000 rpm. I went from an 01 to 98.5 and to me they sound a little different why I dont know but they do. Little bit more motor noise. If you do need a lift pump get it from cummins and not from dodge. Better price and better warranty, mine was 160.00 and has 12/100k warranty. They are not that hard to put in. It took me about an hour and I even put in the banjo kit from wildcat.
