Taking the truck to the Pine Barrens
I typically wheel my jeep which is set up right for offroading. We have had a trip planner for awhile to the Pine Barrens this weekend, I spent all day going over the jeep fixing some issues I was aware of. Then BOOM the rear drive shaft UJoint blew taking the adapter plate for the 8.8 with it.
So I will be off roading the truck. Anything usual I need to look out for? Diff breathers up high enough for some water? I have a 2" leveling kit and 35's on it. Nothing too extreme there just some forest service roads. Thanks

I take my truck out to cranza and quarter mile in early spring alot of engine heat out there isnt enough air over the radiator. but other then that ive had a blast but i do have to say if you know where jackson road is and the power lines i was back there and went through a puddle i had no buisness in and got water inside my truck on the drivers side and now i have a vibration that i think in the front diff so be careful i think i got water and sand in there and it just ate up the inside. ive looked at the front axle while in water and have seen bubbles which makes my believe waters going in

Thanks, I don't know the area that well but we are going with a friend who lives there. Gonna camp ath Warton State Forest Family Campground. I am assuming we will be stay in that general area.
Did not really want to wheel the Dodge but... I see people do it alot at Raucsch Creek. I just don't want to break anything. I will post some pics when I get back. |

One dent from a tight corner and bent track bar later... I am still pleased with how it did. I extracted two international scout II's that had gotten in too deep and no one else could get and also 2 Jeeps.
Here are some videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8yOEiFGAOs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jeYz2sBKVg This is the one that bent the track bar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z_BfVVYcb8 Hill Climb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq8Q0I-EyDk |
