I have 8 PLUS overloads on the back. If you are looking to get a better ride, some members have flipped 1 or 2 to get softer rides. Or th more expensive route, air bags.
That is all I know. Jon

Since you are a 2wd you can get away with pulling some leafs out. Pulling them on a 4wd with the tall lift blocks adds some axle wrap.

i think someone welded mine solid at the factory, LOL, cause mine rides like crap empty, loaded it rides great, put a bobcat on a bumper hitch trailer and a load of tools in the bed and it rides like a cadillac.

Thats how mine is...how they should be. It rides rough empty because our trucks are so light on the rear, taht theres nothing to hold them down when ya hit big bumps. Get a little weight back there, and youre just sailing along.

A guy I know about bolted about 500 pounds of tractor weights underneath the bed. Everyone says it rides real nice now. Plus he has all the bed space too.

When I do find some Stick overload springs will I need to make any changes at all or is it just a direct bolt on? Reason I'm asking is because I do not want to change out the existing spring pack that I have now.
Thanks WW |

Thats no joke, I weighed my truck a while back. Was around 6500lbs and right around 2K was supported by the rear axle. I didn't write down the exact numbers.

i just brouth home a truck that has 10 on either side in the back and none are overloads, all of them are in play all of the time! guy said he bought them at a salvage yard of a 1st gen dually... has the reciept for the rearch and install. you want to know how it rides? when my friend and i got back he was in the hospital the next day... it had broken loose some kidney stones that were forming in his kindneys! i told him he owes me since they were still fairly small and weren't allowed to get bigger, lol. 2300+ miles home... it was a LOOONGGG ride
