So I got 315's. Now I have rubbing issues....
I knew I would have issues with the 315's rubbing. Now all I need to figure out is how to stop them from rubbing.
I am installing a 2" leveling kit next week. So that will hopefully help inner fender well rubbing. Guess my question is, will a set of 2" spacers fix the problem or will they then rub the fenders? I am running the stock 16" alloy rims on my truck. The tires are rubbing on the lower and upper control arms. Thanks! Paul

I ran 315s on my 02 with a leveling kit before I did a "Big Brake" 03 rotor install and they rubbed a little on tight turns. I don't know what effect a 2" spacer will have but if I had to make a decision on rubbing or a 2" spacer, I would put up with the rubbing. It wasn't that bad.

Deal with the rub or get aftermarket wheels. Don't do the spacer. It will put extra wear and tear on the front end. It's like holding a 100# barbell to your chest and then holding it straght out. Thats what the front end will feel.

I put 4-link bars from an '06 on mine. They are thinner and boxed, without the big lip on the bottom edges. Took away ALOT of the nasty part of the rubbing as I have a moderately aggressive tire. I had to redrill the top hole because the upper arms are like 9/16" shorter, but that wasn't hard. I'm also running '06 wheels with too much offset, I have been needing '00 and newer axles (which are now sitting in the garage awaiting a Powr-Lok and new parking brake cables.)

yes, h2 wheels and 315s will fit with no rubbing what so ever. even without the 2" lift.

I've got 315s on hummer rims and there is no rubbing except for full-lock and that's only a little bit. Those are 17" rims, though, and might not fit your present tires....

You need to move the wheels outward to stop the rubbing, not down, which is what the levelling kit will do.
I haven't seen any increased wear on my truck, either as stated above. Heavier and larger diameter tires and wheels will do that on their own. The Hummer wheels look really nice on our trucks IMO. Kurt

Well i don't know what smoke i was crackin on. My new tires are 16's so.............H2 rims won't work for me now unless i get new tires.
I guess i should have planned better. Anyone know of a decent set of 16" rims that will work for me? |

I had this problem on my '01.5 when I added 305/70/16's to the stock 16 x 8 wheels. It instantly cleared up when I switched to 16x10 wheels with 4.5" backspacing.
These wheels beefed up the stance of my truck and kicked the tires outboard about 2". Ted
