I run around on dirt roads frequently with friends and dust is really an issue
in the summer. Been looking for a snorkel to get air intake in the air a bit,
and found this one from expiditioneers:

I bought it about 3 months ago, but the weather has been so crappy I just got
around to installing it yesterday. The install took about 3 hours and was quite
straightforward. Attached are a few pictures of the install and completed
truck.

After removing the airbox, fender flair and inner fender, it's time to start drilling:

After modifying the airbox, installing the tubing from the snorkel, attaching to, and installing the airbox, replacing the fender liner and flair the job was done.

The pic of you drilling the hole in your truck just PAINS me to look at! Nice looking truck though.. Looks like you do some Expedition type travels in it, is that true?

Yes I do a bit, plan a lot more when I retire in October. If you're going, you'll see the rig at Overland Expo in a few weeks. Nice 900+ mile drive from Norcal.

We run snorkels on our Toyota Hilix trucks at work. We turned the snorkel intake ends around and pointed them to the rear of the truck to cut down on the water, snow, dust etc. from going straight in. Anyone else do this?

There was a very large warning included with the snorkel NOT to turn the intake backwards. At speed it could starve the engine for air and cause engine damage.

wow, when did they start making these? i had to custom build one for my 03 ram 1500 i had. it looked good but there weren't any of these on the market then.

That is awesome looking, first time i seen one of these trucks with that mod. The power wagon flares really set that truck off also.

Very nice install...but that hole in the fender...EKKK!!! Hopefully you coated the edges where you drilled to keep rust at bay.
