Where's the fun in that? After I lift my truck, I will be ordering one of these promptly.

If I recall it correctly the smarty may only be sold for a minimum price.
And the "profit" of the shop goes to keeping this site free.
I do shop here for this specific reason- I saved a lot of $$$ (well in my case €€€) by reading and asking questions here.

Just my 2c

Yes we are a FREE club, it costs money to belong to Sams, Bj's or Costco. I sell them at the LOWEST allowed pricing plus I offer free shipping to the lower 48 states.

American Icon, Schwinn Bicycle company had "suggested retail pricing" that was later determined to be "price fixing". Cost their heirs the entire company...

Anytime a company dictates to a reseller, pricing levels, those companies are skating on real thin ice.... These companies do it to try and protect their resellerers profit level and as a reason for the high initial "buy in". These same companies will not restock a reseller that sells below their "established" price level.

It used to be that a company with more funds and inventory, better service and stock levels could sell for higher prices, now the companies making stuff try to "protect" the guy working out of his garage with a website.. Very sad marketing tool...

These same companies never understand that the market determines price levels and companies that don't comply WILL dissappear.. price protection or not....

Hate to tell ya, but Mads isn't going out of business anytime soon. In addition, those policies have protected many a buyer from scammers on sites such as eBay etc who will sell, then never support the product after the sale. If you don't like the policy, buy another product. It's that simple.

I have never bought a product expecting it to fail. I have never bought a product based upon its warranty.

That is what pre purchase research is meant to eliminate.

If a company needs to protect me from scammers, I do not need that extra expense, they build and add into, the cost.

Sorta like taking full responsibility, for ALL my own actions...

and as for: "If you don't like the policy, buy another product." I will find someone who can not figure out how to use it and get it from them, at a substantial discount...

There are many many ways to skin the same cat...

I hate to risk those for a few HP.

So, I had a Power Programmer III on my Ford 7.3. This sounds similar except the PPIII actually downloaded and stored the stock program. Hypertech also claimed that dealers cannot detect them. But, there is that one case . . . truck completely dies and you can't reload the stock program. Then what?

Life is full of risks you take em or you dont. I was dead set against a programer because of warranty issues. Then I thought, "its my truck and If I want a programer im getting one"...Im so glad I did, smarty really is worth the money. The dead truck situation is realistic but I bet it does not happen that often. Now I said this, it will happen to me

Now that Smarty Jr. has been around a while, what are the real world numbers?
In particular, what kind of fuel economy increases are folks seeing?
Thanks.
