We have gotten a lot of orders on these with excellent feedback from the customers. Your input on this is appreciated. I think those guys have done a good job in developing this product..

What would be the recommended setting for a stock truck? I picked up a new 2006 yesterday and am already anxious for more power.

Level 3 for the auto and level 5 for the manual.

Ordered my Smarty from Lary on Friday.
Got home yesterday and it was there.

Great service, great price, speedy delivery, and a candy bar.

Can't get better than that.

Now I have an excuse to get some injectors to compliment it, and start some tranny upgrades.

Thank you
Hey Bob.

Kudos on the delivery time.
(no T in Huber though )

I'm a little confused about the different upgrader and usb driver options.

I have Windows 2000, which upgrader do I want to use?
3.04A or 3.04L
3.04A says "optimized for XP", 3.04L doesn't say what version of windows.
USB driver (CDM 2.00.00) for Win2K is the same as the one for XP, so would I use the XP downloader?

Also, are the Smartys still shipping with version 1 software, or version 2 with the cold weather idle?
That will determine if I even want to bother with the software upgrader yet (I don't really need the revised anti theft version #0)

thanx

I just returned from a towing trip (10k lb fifth wheel) in the Eastern Sierras and would be interested in making just a bit more power. I worry about warranty consequences (please save the "you play, you pay" comments). I have 4 yrs and 37k miles left on my DC powertrain warrantly and 67k miles left on the Cummins warranty. I hate to risk those for a few HP.

So, I had a Power Programmer III on my Ford 7.3. This sounds similar except the PPIII actually downloaded and stored the stock program. Hypertech also claimed that dealers cannot detect them. But, there is that one case . . . truck completely dies and you can't reload the stock program. Then what?

if you are willing to do it when the warranty expires why not do it now.....its the same thing because if you break w/ out warranty you have to pay....and if you break with warranty, you have to pay. so why not pay for the smarty.....keep it on low levels and enjoy the ride!!!!

btw, i read on here somewhere that the cummins warranty does not go into effect until the dc warranty is up

True.

The only way I can think if where it completely dies and you can't access the PCM is if the PCM takes a dump in which case, I'm not sure if they can really find out if you did anything to begin with. Some other guru's may know more, though.

Well, not exactly. I have read cases where owners claimed that DC detected the mod and then flagged their trucks in the DC computer - thereafter denying all warranty claims. I know Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is supposed to protect from this. But, who wants to wage that battle.

I'll just leave it stock for peace-of-mind.
