How Much Does a Gallon of #2 Weigh
I figure it weighs more than water but how much does a gallon of diesel weigh. (not the other #2)

ummmm it weighs less than water, thats why it floats.. and the water sinks to the bottom o f your tank, water seperator.... roughly 8 lbs a gallon.........

Yeah it should weigh less. I made a mistake 
So around 7lbs? I was wondering how much weight gets added when you fuel up, so I know how much weight makes it so hard to get the back wheels turned loose on my truck. With the low fuel light on I can get the back end turned loose going up a hill on a wet road through 5th gear and the wheels spin on that wet road when taking off and not trying, but after adding 26 gallons I can't get them to spin while trying.

When figuring axle weights in the trucking industry, we use 8 lbs. a gallon. I've never actually put a gallon on a scale though. 300 gallons will change the weights of an axle very quick.

182lbs...doesn't seem like much, huh??
Just put a steel flatbed on it, then you'll only be able to break them loose in the snow, or with very, VERY, bald tires in the rain
But they'll do one heck of a burnout with no bed at all

You can also get it broke loose in the sand and on caliche roads. Whats worse is I've put another tool box on my truck in Sept. so I have even more weight than before (not the weight of the box).

OK, after exhausting research I have concluded; water-8.34 lbs/gal, diesel varies from summer to winter 7.1 - 7.3 lbs/gal, gasoline 6.1 lbs/gal.

The #2 numbers we use in research are between 6.951 and 7.076 pounds per gallon. Say 7.0 to make things easy. I'm sure with ULSD the number will change but I haven't had need to find out how much yet.
