New Amsoil tranny oil for the NV5600

Amsoil just came out with synthetic synchromesh transmission fluid called MTF 5w-30 for the NV5600. http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/mtf.aspx

I plan to phone Amsoil tomorrow and order some of the MTF. I am not happy with the way my six speed shifts. Thanks for the heads up on this product.

The NV5600 holds 4.75 quarts. The transfer case uses ATF+4 and I believe it takes 4 pints.
I'm going to try out the MTF also.

no, the t-case uses atf.. the trans uses the expensive lube... you could probably run the same i the t-case, but atf is easier to get... when i change my t-case lube, it's getting mobil1 atf in it...

Hounddog,
The NV5600 uses a special 5w-30 GL-4 type of lube. Now the new G56 6spd uses the ATF+4.

I'm about due an oil change in my transmission, don't know if I'll change to the new oil or not. I've been running Amsoil 10 - 30 motor oil since about 25k, I'm nearly at 225k now with no problems at all, shifts fine to me.

Pennsoil Syncromesh (also Quakerstate Syncromesh) is the factory Dodge fill.

http://www.pennzoil.com/products/gea...cro_fluid.html

At bottm of the web page is the data sheet. Just click for the specs.

Redline has MTL which meets the requirements for the 5600 also. Cheapest on the web is:

The Transfer Case uses ATF. Either Amsoil ATF or Redline C+ exceed the standard.

Put 5 qts. of the Amsoil MTF in yesterday. To be honest, it shifts the same as with the Amsoil 10w-30 motor oil. Put a little over 350 miles on it today with about 24k behind me.
