DRBIII reader $$ after tire upgrade
Called my local Dodge dealer and asked how much to hook up their DRB3 tool and change the coded tire size on my truck. $92. Wait a minute this is what, a 5 minute task? That comes to about $1100/hr. I told them no thanks I am all for paying for service but this is pure gouging. Now looking for another shop with the tool.

Most shops will charge a .5 hour minimum to hook up the scan tool. They do have to justify the large expense of the scan tool and the frequent software updates and/or licensing fees. Hopefully you will also be paying for the expertise of a higher skilled technician than one who would usually be doing simpler tasks. I would be completely satisfied paying around .5 hour labor for this but a full hour would seem excessive.

Best if you already know the revs per mile on your tire size. If your new tire size is not listed that is the most accurate way to set new tire size into the ABS module, then your speedo and odometer will be accurate.
Using the DRB III, the technician can press "0" and then should be prompted to enter "revs / Mile" which should permit entry Total range should be 400 < pinion < 900.
