New to the Diesel world
I want to know what would be some good up grades to add to my 05 3500. Keep in mind I'm new plus I'm in the military so I'm broke lol. The reason I ask is I do pull a trailer often when I'm not deployed and when I'm home on leave I'm hauling cattle or horses with the truck so I need to try and keep the smoke to a minimum if possible thanks

Welcome! What are you looking for? Better fuel mileage, power? These trucks are pretty amazing stock, but there is a world of aftermarket out there for them as well.

I want both I love the feel of the stock power when it's empty but I know there is room for more but I also know with diesels where there is great amounts of power there is smoke and I can't be smoking out the livestock on the way to the sales or shows while I'm home. Don't get me wrong empty I get about 20 with the 3.73s and the 6sp but I could always use more mpgs. I don't want a full out race or pull truck just something that can get out of its own way when it has a 40 foot stock trailer hooked to the goose ball

First, Thank you for your Service!!!
Welcome to the site, lots of great info and great people here.
Get a smarty programmer, or raceme now, 6.7l factory intake with a good napa gold drop in filter, 4in exhaust and you'll see huge improvements. I would suggest not going straight pipe though, too noisy when towing. I had my 01 straight piped and it was awful. On my 08 I'm running 4in flo pro with a flo pro muffler. Nice and quiet even pulling my camper.
Stay safe, and enjoy buddy

No need to thank me it pays my bills and its my way of giving back to my great country.
I have the 4in Banks Monster turbo back came with the truck when i bought in in march. I've looked at the Smarty and the Edge EvoHT but after doing some research on my truck I dont want that dmf clutch to explode on me and i dont have 2 months worth of pay to dump on the smf kit. So with that being said how much will the dmf handle before it sh*ts the bed on me cause when i come home from deployment me and my dad are headed up north to pick up close to 100 head of cattle between 4 trucks mine and 3 of his ranch trucks and i dont want to be stuck some where with 25 head of cattle in the trailer with little food and water
