1500 Diesel

So, they've been on the market for a short while now. And they are supposedly selling like hot cakes.

Has anyone seen one? Driven one? Ridden in one?

Nope. My dealer was supposed to call me when they got one on the lot, too...

They sold so quickly I doubt there will be one sitting on the lot unless it's a dealer POV.

The dealer in Boise had a test drive event this past weekend but I've had a sinus infection so I didn't get a chance to go.

I'm gonna see if they still have one available for a test drive once my nasal cavity decides to stop generating the stuff it has been for the past couple weeks.

LOL!

Thanks! I'm slowly getting better ..... would have been easier had our doctor listened to me when I asked for antibiotics. I told him this was going to happen because every time I get a head cold it turns into a sinus infection.

I wanted to nip it in the bud before it got this far, but apparently I don't know my body as well as the doctor thinks he does.

I drove one in Laramie 4x4 last week at dealer here in Central Texas. Within 5 miles the low coolant light came on, temp gauge went to HOT, and cooling fan kicked on under hood and the darn thing sounded like a jet engine was in the truck. That ended my test drive or thoughts of buying one.
The dealership has yet to call me to test drive another one..

If dealerships today would PREP and TEST DRIVE the vehicles when they come off the delivery trucks they would catch items so the customer is not the guinea pig!

And, just because the dealership webage shows the vehicle as in INVENTORY doen't mean it's on the lot yet! It means it's on order...Call them first so you don't waste your time!

I test drove a 4x2 SLT Ecodiesel at different Dodge dealer yesterday.. First time was Dodge Country and this time Benny Boyd.
For the first three miles the thing, with cruise control on at 70mph was turning 2500 rpms and getting under 20mpg. I hit the gas pedal to take it out of cruise and the dang thing shifted into 8th gear. Stopped vehicle, took off and got up to 60mph and hit cruise and did same thing again..What the crap?

Salesman was at a loss for words..

I had called dealership prior to going and they told me they had a 4x4 on lot. Guess what...NOPE!

I was so looking forward to getting one of these, but that's strike two for the new Ram Ecodiesel..

Was it cold out? Modern rigs sometimes run a lower gear to keep the DPF warm, my Passat will actually run a mini regeneration cycle until the DPF reaches 400F and yes, uses much more fuel when this is happening

I drove one a couple of days ago. Nice engine and 8 speed transmission. Smooth strong power with no delay. Smooth as silk shifting. Quiet inside and out.

I do NOT like the dial shifter. Dodge goes ahead and finally, finally puts a diesel in a half ton and go European on the interior? I like the paddle shifter in my 2011 gas burner.

Why haven't the power here started a forum for the 1500's?
