Lightbulb Homemade 6" Air intake, AKA the "whistler", tech write-up **Part 2**

Well the whistler thread grew up to be too big and taxing on the search function ...so we have to start a "part 2" to the thread. Link to the first whistler thread.
enjoy some more tech...

in the last thread/last page member "biggator60"
says....
"Bought the parts for the stage 2, not sure where the elbow and filter are ending up in the fender..does anything need to be removed??"

no, you should be fine with it pointing down and towards the stock fender air filter hole.

*Shield Update*
I got the shield material and hope to bend tomorrow afternoon

So now the entire setup is going to be avaliable through the DTR store? Or your going to sell the sheilds through the DTR store and your just selling big_bear the parts for stage I? Stage I is the elbow filter etc. Right?

if someone wants a full intake then yes you could buy it through the DTR store soon. I got tons of PM's about just the welded sensor bung part so that will be available too...
so basically you can buy whatever parts you want.
if you did the whole intake yourself and now you want just a shield, that is fine too......

Sounds great! Read through most of this. Not sure what is Stage I and II? Avail. for 6.7? Is the shield the part that closes the airbox from the engine compartment?

Very interested....

******, I just finished my stage I for my 6.7 and I like the way the turbo sings But I am having a couple of issues and one is that the check engine light is on and the other is that there is now a little bit of lag on the low end. I am not so sure there is anything I can do about that butdo you have any suggestions about the check engine light?
