Front brake flex hoses ????
I was doing a front brake job recently and I had planned to replace both flex hoses as preventative maintenance. After removing the caliper I loosened the coupling at the frame side but the coupling to the steel tubing was siezed. I carefully put it back together so as not to twist the steel line. Is there a trick to breaking the coupling loose at the steel line ???? As a last resort if it comes to replacing the front steel brake line do they come pre-formed ???? I am just beginning to do the search but so far no luck.
Appreciate any suggestions.

Auto Parts store carry brake lines in different lengths. Tubing bender would help with those sharp bends or you could kink the brake line.

Use a 50:50 mix of acetone and auto trans fluid. That's about the best penetrating oil you can get.
Use a tubing wrench, not a standard open end wrench.
If you ruin the end, you'll need to replace it. Generally, you'll need to use a tubing bender, and flare tool. Brake lines require a double flare end.
However, there are some steel compression fittings made specifically for high pressure applications. The basic medium strength Swag-Lok fittings are good to 15,000 psi. All you need is a clean cut, and no flares.

I got the fitting loose from the flex line. The problem was it being seized to the steel line. It came loose easily but would twist the steel line if I forced it. I did put some penetrating oil on it but have not tried it since.
