Remote start of a manual

Is there any way to install remote start on a manual 2014 truck? I know there are legal issues but can it be done. I have access to the tools of ram dealership.

I've seen it done personally. friend had remote start on his manual (he was a stereo/alarm installer and thought it would be cool) and he hit the remote and the truck went into the house.

Directed Electronics used to make one of their brands that did manual vehicles via a neutral switch that does a check for neautral prior to start.

I had a manual 2008 that I did this to. I'm not sure if it is the same for a 2014 but all it took was installing a remote start and grounding a wire. I think this was the post about it.

Just to tell you how used I am not not putting the tranny in gear I leave my auto in drive most times. I really miss the 6speed shifter.

why would you even want this? Seems like an upgrade that wouldn't bring much more value, ease of use, or really be that cool. Just my opinion of course.

It is just a thought. I have a young daughter now and one more on its way. Living in ohio it is nice to have a warmed up truck for the young ones in the winter.

I understand. I grew up in MN. Had to go out and start various vehicles every couple of hours throughout the years to make sure they would run when I needed to go to work or school! Only thing I need to worry about now is Hurricanes here in Charleston!

my 2012 has a remote start. Its a Viper (directed electronics) and works very well. When you park the truck, you have to put on the parking brake, press a button on the remote and take the key out, it runs until all the doors are closed and when you lock it it shuts down. If you open any door, hood, alarm goes off, etc... It won't start unless you get in start it and do the shutdown procedure over again. It sounds like a pain in the *** but really, after the first week, its habit. Just brake and button on the fob every time. I can't recall the exact model of mine but Viper 5704 or 5204 sounds about right, also the remote start works from about a mile away.
