Throttle cable question.

Throttle cable question.
Can the throttle cable from the CANZ9700 recall kit be used in a 97 12V? I ask because I am under the impression that the actual part# for the throttle cable used in the recall kit is 1-04897406AA. If the info I've found is correct, the part# for throttle cable on 12V's 97 and up is 1-04897407AA. I've been told the difference between 406AA and 407AA is their cable diameter...407AA is supposed to have a larger outside diameter. This seems odd to me, because I thought the recall kit used the upgraded cable that was in the 97 and up model years. What am I missing here? I've done searches here and on google only to come away with some contradictory info. Any clarification on this is appreciated because I see the CANZ9700 kit can be had for about $15+shipping. The local Dodge dealer told me $81 for a cable for my 97, and, wouldn't give the part #...which is what got me wondering. Thanks for any help with this!

I would say it should, since that recall was for 97 trucks....
That being said, my parts manual lists part number 5301594 as the accelerator cable for a 97 diesel, and mopar parts america lists it at $ 26.50 with the online price of $ 19.08.
I think your dealer sees $$$ signs....
