Paranoia?

I love my High Def TV however it's been bombarded on many channels with the "Dooms Day Prepper" watch me commercial. Does anyone here take prepping even a little bit seriously? I don't know what to think these days. My gun and ammo supply is ok I guess but could use more 12 gauge shells. My wife thinks I'm being silly and paranoid.... Maybe she's right? Guess it wouldn't hurt to toss some canned stuff in the RV? It's possible I'm still unhappy about the election results

Just because you are not paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you.....

Prepared is always best. We live in the sticks, so we don't have a choice.

Look at it from the professionals point of view. There is not a single Navy SEAL who is EVER in a situation they are not prepared for...

We have 6 to 12 months of food, 300 gal of gasoline and 3-500 gal of Diesel we rotate through, generator for electricity WHEN we need it, 2 wells and a river for water, chickens and cows running around. Solar hot air heat coming on line soon, and wood fired stove in process.

We are actually going to get some food that can be stored long term (10 - 20 years). We don't own any guns, but we have a significant amount of slingshots and high velocity pellets.

Not really worried about zombies, but NO ONE call feel any comfort for how katrina and Sandy were handled. Should a natural disaster hit, you will be on your own for multiple weeks. Not a single camera covered the floods or fires here or in Montana over the past couple of years. We are on our own. (although we typically appreciate it when the feds stay the heck out anyway, they just mess things up and get in the way)

No one really heard anything when Nashville flooded either. Why? they were prepared, they did not depend on anyone else to cover their behind, and they did not EXPECT someone to bring relief to them.

The word prepping is from those on high making fun of us folks who choose to grasp our bibles and slingshots, and refuse to submit to their power and demands to give in and depend on THEM.

Rugged individualism.

Well, I will just say this......if one is not prepared for the inevitable, then it is going to suck to be that one.

Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Ok, time to load up! Last week all the local Kentucky Fried Chicken stores filed chap 11 If that wasn't bad enough it seems I'll never have another Twinkie either I don't eat at KFC or munch on a twinkie often but when I want some it's always been there. Maybe the Mayan's were right! Thank God the beer companies are strong

take it seriously? no, I dont have a basement that is 6 to 8 sand packed cinderblocks thick. I dont have a years worth of food, water, and air packed away.
I do take prepping seriously to the point of keeping a few days supplies on hand at any give time. We keep on hand the things we consume, along with a few extra gallons of water.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the two in the recent embassy attack were...

Through no fault of their own, as I understand it, but rules are made to be broken in my book....
