5500 C&C water in feul

first time on here just wanted to share what went wrong with my truck. had some real slushy weather here in saskatchewan couple weeks ago and my truck water in fuel lite came on. brought into our shop and pulled fuel filter off and it was full of muddy water. just about made me sick when i seen this.after snooping around trying to figure out where it came from, turns out the vent line on the fuel tank was in the valley on the top of tank and all the muddy snow was melting into fuel tank. killed my truck it has been at dealer for over 2 weeks now. going to be a very big bill on this which i hope will be warrenty only 10000km. on truck. we put the vent hose up into service body out of weather for about $5.00 to prevent a $15000 bill next time. long story short if you buy 1 of these c&c CHECK YOUR FUEL VENT LINE!!!!

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about this..

I just looked at mine and it is a short hose with a breather cap on it.. the shortness of the hose prevents it from laying in the valley of the tank (which is a poor place to put the flange for the gauge / lift pump if you ask me)

Keep us updated on this..

there is a fix-it bullitin out. when i took mine in for svc two weeks ago the service tech showed me how they corrected it. seems like they lengthened it just a bit to get it up higher. contact dodge, it's their fault.
