First hand experience with CA smog laws
Those are good videos about what to expect at the CA smog tests. It seems that the smoke test or snap test is all about the interpretation of the person conducting the test. A windy day would effect smoke 8ft away from the vehicle in an open shop. Also they reference some after market electronics as being legal as long as it is in stock mode. Is this correct? I can't believe that they assume nobody will alter fuel programs after leaving the smog test.
I will be watching this thread closely. I think mine will be next year but will know for sure later when my registration is due
