Good on ya Matt, way to get after it, Farmers round here are doing beets and beans. just about over though, maybe another week. My place was planted in barley (budweiser) they harvested that some time ago. I still have to pick up all my gated pipe though. Kinda like a big hammer hanging over my head!!!!

Claude, hope you like it. It couldn't possible be worse than windows!!!!

Soybeans are almost done here, most of the farmers will be moving on to corn next. The mint, tomatos, and green beanswere picked about a month ago around here. Couple big tomato farms around here and they all sell their products to Red Gold. The mint goes to one of the gum companies and I dunno where the green beans go to.

I tried to get some work yesterday and today when i was at the grain elevator. The one closest to me has an old EMD GP9 locomotive they use to shove grain cars around with. I've worked on it in the past as side work, now that I an laid off I asked the elevator manager if he needs any more work done to it soon. He said it's been running like a top since I fixed it almost 2 yrs ago, but he'll call me if it breaks down.

I've been off since the end of June, unemployment keeps the bills paid and the side work helps out alot too. I'm getting tired of being off now, I'm ready to go back to work again. I've been in contact with a few old co-workers from one of the RR's I worked for, they've all said the company is getting ready to start hiring again. My old boss there had told them and me that when he gets the ok to hire I am the first one he calls. I'll cross my finger for you too! If we have to send in the hairy one, I feel sorry for the person or people he has to attack with his verbal judo, long hair, and that nasty bark/bite of his.

I was not eligible for unemployment cause I was self employed before I went into the oil fields. I guess you have to be 'employed for a year before you can get employment. I had to strap on the tool belt again, which I really did not want to do, but hey I hadn't smashed a finger in a long time!!!!
