Tighten the chain, press the clutch to the floor, press the go pedal through the floor & ease out on the clutch. When you feel the tires break loose, dump the clutch.

I don't think you will find many different opinions on this one, not if your trying to win.

2nd low?? time for a clutch. on my 2nd gen I usually come off in 5th low or 2nd high depending on the track. truck has 4.10's and 35" tires

when you say " depending on track" what does that mean? Tight, loose, rough, smooth? Which do you choose for faster wheel speed and which for slower?

depends on if the track is sticky and packed 5 th gear low dry and loose 2nd high . I choose a higher gear because the vp-44 pumps run the plungers dry around 3600 rpms. with 5th gear low ,6x.018 injectors,.093 tubes,66 charger and a monster pump 3400 rpms down the track the smoke never clears and the truck pulls very hard. just not much room for the charger to fall before it gets snuffed out. so now in process of p-pumping it.
