Moving to Juneau, might as well put one on.
What/ which ? should I put on front air shocks too?
I am thinking a V plow like BOSS or SNOW WAY
An other problem...I have the steering stabilizer in stalled with the bigger steer box and the bearing hanging dwn ....in the way of anything ?,

for the plow i would go with a fisher extreme v, its all stainless steel, and its preffered by pretty everyone i know, for commercial plowing. espcially if price doesn't matter, cause it one of the most expensive plows you can buy

 

If you can't afford a stainless Fisher plow get a steel one. They take a good beating and all ways work.

 

would you like the front mounts for a plow? the truck i just bought still had the front mount and inside control. no hydralics or blade, though
I will be taking these off my truck. in NC we don't get enough snow to make it worth while.

as a side note. rustproof your truck...as much as possible!!!
I just replace both rear wheel cylinders and brake lines from the front to the back...all rusted out!! I have more line to replace. some are engine fuel lines

I'd go w/the Boss V-plow, reliable and pretty easy to get parts if you have to. I know w/all that weight up front, it's hard on the hub bearings, so make sure they're in good shape. Along w/u-joints, tranny, brakes, etc..

 

Fisher.... If you want a Vee... The Stainless Vee is where it's at if $ is no concern. Look into the dealer support where you are going, that makes a difference. I would highly suggest you look into the new Western Wide-Outs... or the similar Fisher.. You should think about upgrading your front end parts if your going to see some serious snow removal.

The Sno-Way Vee plows are suppose to be badass but I got no experience with them...

I recommend fisher plows, you'll have no problems with DSS or the steering box. Go stainless it will pay for itself in the long run.

 

Just out of curiosity, how are you getting the plow all the way to Juneau?

If you haven't already, I'd check on the Ferry requirements. They charge alot of money for oversize vehicle, etc, and since the plow would be over 8 feet for the duals, you are probably subject to extra fees because your tailgate will be down. Also, I would find out what dealerships they have in Juneau for plow service/sales. Sometimes you may find a better price, especially if you have to pay taxes (no tax in Alaska). Beautiful country up there!!

I agree with Snoy... Purchase the plow in Alaska..I'm sure it will be much cheaper than down here! Especially without tax. And you don't have to haul it... Do some research and find a dealer up there, I'm also sure there is one for every brand somewhere. Then you also get dealer support

Now more problems, - How are you people putting these on with steering stabilizers installed like a dss unit with a lower bearing ?????

 

I put the fisher plow brackets against the frame and the put the dss, and the put the sway bar on. You will have to trim the dss on both sides about a 1/2 inch. Keep spraying the bolts with a rust penatrant like crc power lube. Use longer bolts and apply never seize incase the have to come out later on. Good luck.
