Installed 62/71/13 ss last night, here are some tips for 04.5 and up....
I forgot to mention I have no problems at all with building boost. Wastegate was set at 40psi and I can hit 40psi no problems. I may bump it up a little bit in the future. Right now I don't see any need. My max EGT I can hit is 1250 with a quad Std. box set on 100 tune. With a Quad box that is excellent. They have always ran a little but no hotter than stock. I have no issues with surging pulling 10,000lbs today. It is somewhat laggy to get started with the 71 turbin but not bad. I would say get the 65 turbine if you already have a tight TC.
maybe your turbo set at 40. mine I have set on the bench 40 psi and it opens early. has to do with the wastegate size of the holes. did you look to see if you have a boost elbow? our just think you dont have one.
Having done the removal and install a couple times both ways, I would suggest removing the turbo and exhaust manifold in one piece. It seems like more work but it's so much easier. Plus it gives you the chance to replace the exhaust manifold bolts with studs. Anyone who has experienced the joys of reinstalling the individual multilayer exhaust manifold gaskets knows what I'm talking about.

Studs make it much easier. Aligning those 6 separate gaskets (even single layered ones) is a real PITA. With studs you can do it yourself easier than two people could using the stock bolts.
Hmmm...never heard of ones on a CR that weren't multi-layered. Most are multi-layered steel.

Like I said, no boost elbo at all. My quad box does boost fooling. I could hit 40psi with my stock turbo. So I have always had the fuel to do it. Been doing turbo's a long time on gassers. I have a brand new Greddy boost controller in the box I could put on this truck but it is for my other car just haven't put it on yet.
reason why I asked I talked to HTT today and they said they now put boost elbow's on the SS housing because of the reason I stated before the larger ports in the housing open the wastegate up before the pre set bench pressure the wastegate is set at, there sending me one out, I cant get the turbo on stock fueling to go over 34 psi it blows the wastegate open unless I clamp the wastegate hose off, but it will go to 40 psi with the fueling up. I like to keep the boost up on stock fueling around 36 to 39 psi to keep the trailer clean from soot, yes it needs a boost fooler to keep from kicking a overboost code when I have the boxes turned off. Thats why I asked if you looked at the elbow see if it had a set screw in it or not. Thanks
