I got my new recirc door today. The A/C works great now. They even managed to reflash the ECM, although I now have a blinking red light in my dash. I guess I'll have to take it to a different dealer to have that fixed.

That blinking red light is a theft deterrent. It was always there, maybe you just haven't noticed it. I didn't notice mine for a while.

If it is blinking all the time instead of just when the truck is locked you need to lock and then unlock your truck using the key fob .

Mine did the same thing when a new ECM was installed until I ran a lock/unlock cycle.

Should blink only when the truck is locked. It is a visible signal that the alarm system is armed.

When I started the truck this morning it fired for about 2 seconds, then suddenly died. Immediately tried to restart and it just cranked and cranked and wouldn't start. Turned the key off and waited about 10 seconds then it fired up and ran fine. Hopefully I don't have any more problems. Also, the light is no longer blinking.

Thats pretty much what mine did also.

I think it should be OK now. Mine was last week and has been fine since.

My ECM was replaced. The first time I started it I noticed the red security light was on while running.
This light is normally on when the truck is off and locked.
I activated the lock with the remote and then unlocked.
This time it did start and then die, just like cgrahm's truck.
The next start it ran normally and has ever since.
There must be some relearning between the ECM and the security system whenever the computer has been reprogrammed or replaced.
Could be others who have not experienced this because the dealer might have already ran it through a few key cycles before customer received.

I was having problem with defrost not working. I took to dealer as it is still under factory warranty. The dealer told me it was a blend door issue. They have had truck for 4 days and are having a hard time with it. Service adviser told me that dash is pulled out and big guy cannot fit in space. I'm only thankful that I don't need truck at this time as I have been working on Oahu for 2 months. I will be putting some pressure on them soon as I will be coming home the 25th.

then tell the numb nuts to get the skinny kid in back pushing a broom to crawl in there with his supervision.....sounds like BS to me. I bet they messed up dash or broke something else and waiting on parts.

Mine broke yesterday. Any downside to just removing the broken door? I have
a gauge in the a pillar and dont want them to mess it up. I suppose I could just take it off ( the a pillar ) before I take it in, By the way, my tech at the dealer said it was going to break eventually. He has done so many he can do it in about 45 minutes.

I have the same question since mine just started making random noises and isn't blowing where it's set to. I've heard of people just removing the door altogether and they seemed happy, but what happens then (ie. Does the air come from recirc or fresh and where does it blow)??

They fixed it in 45 minutes and all is well. Some way or another, unhooking the dash reset the ecm though. I no longer have the fogs on with the hi beams, etc.

Depends on which door is bad there is the recirculate door that people remove themselves and then all is well however you will ONLY have fresh air no more recirculated air.

Now the other door (the blend door) I have no idea if you can just remove that yourself or not?? I am having issues with my blend door it will be on vents just fine but when I put it on just floor it comes out of my defroster and just slightly on the floor which was horrible end of winter when I would have hot air blowing in my face when all I wanted to do was warm up my feet

Mine is out of warranty so either i have to pay out of pocket or do it myself but not sure how bad it is??

Had all blend doors and housing replaced at 94000 miles. My truck will never be the same.
-dash rattles
-brake lights stayed on
-A/C controls light bulbs burned out.
-ALL my aftermarket gauges didn't work after dash came out(I had to fix, dealer couldn't seem to figure it out since it wasn't in their manuals)
-My Quad Race was all "f"ed up, again wasn't in their manual.
-my gd lamp out light keeps going on and off, all of a sudden.
Needless to say the dealer will not touch my truck again. In their defense the A/C works great!

If you have an 03 OR 04, follow the advice of not switching the modes w/ fan on high, I would hate for your trucks to end up like mine. Also, since the dealer ended up doing all this work for FREE, I won't even tell you what that took , I will not mention who they are.

ac door

My recirculation door just broke, I bought the new housing but it looks the same to me with a different door. I'm going to try changing the door only, looks like it will work.I don't even want the hacker mechanic ripping the dash out of my truck. I'll let you know how it goes.
