Arm Rests

Has anyone (everyone) worn out there arm rest that your left elbow rides on? Mine is severly dented and the clips that snap it down are torn out of it! Is there a contact that can get them?

thanks

Mine has definately wore out bad enough to the point that I put Duck tape on it and it really matches the grey interior. Every so often, I have to replace the tape because it starts to look crappy. Mine had 174,000 Miles on it when I put the tape on it.

Yeah, mine are worn and dented but not falling apart yet. I got 160,000 miles on mine. The paper backed fuzzy panels are also warped and peeling away from the plastic on the door panels. I don't know what to do about that yet. Since it's cosmetic it will be a while before anything is done with it but it does bug me.

Mine was trashed on the drivers side, but the vinyl was okay. I pulled it off and removed the plastic and padding. I cut a piece of 1/4" plywood the same shape as the plastic and added stiff padding. Then I stapled the vinyl to the bottom side of the plywood. Screwed it on to the panel. Not like new, but it works.

I got a new one

My PO handed me a perfect new one, still in the bag when I bought the truck. it was my first fix. So I know they're out there, but I don't know where.

just be sure to work on taking *all* the interior of the door off, and don't try and go at the little pieces. The little carpet like bits are held on by crappy plastic 'rivets' that break when you start looking under stuff.

maybe everybody else already knew that. I'm going to be gluing my carpet bits down, since they're flapping now.

When the armrest padding on the driver's side was all worn out I repaired it by shaping a piece of foam from old flip flops and inserted under the plastic. The armrest is like new.
