Shift Kit!!

Okay so my Uncle and I put just the basic shift kit in the truck today. Just the Transgo TFOD-Jr. The tranny is not in the best of shape but its not slipping yet so we decided wed do something to help it live a little longer. The fluid looked like we had drained the oil pan not the trans . But it runs SOOO much better. Added two lbs of boost!! I cant wait to get the new converter and the full shift kit in it Transgo Tf-2!

Sam(my uncle) and I are also planning on putting a low gear set in the rebuilt trans

Thats cool, glad it worked out for you. what gears do you plan to goto? trying to get a .9 or .8 final drive?
My trans seems to be healthy so far, i'd like to have it last. Weighing a converter vs. a shift kit, time and $$ and outcome.

Well a converter is a must but dont have the money yet. I have a spare trans that I am collecting parts for, the overdrive roasted the planetary, seems to be common lol. The final ratio will remain the same just looking for a deeper first gear. If you have ever driven a new duramax they come off the line like a bat out of you know where because those allisons have like a 3.6 to one first gear!! I dont know if I can link the company so shoot me a pm and Ill give you some more info! For the cost of the kit and having and uncle to teach me how to modify the valve body the results are great!!
