Bought some tubing from the parts store and ran it into the engine compartment. I really think when they put the axle on at the factory they never took the cap off and ran the vent tube.

I would think there has to be a difference. Looking at the MBRP exhaust they break it down for 03-04 and then 04.5 and up. The 03-04 are all turbo back systems, and the 04.5 and up are cat backs.
