Just a thought but check your relief valve on the fuel manifold, I just went through a no start issue and turns out it was the relief valve hanging and not allowing the rail to build the 4000psi...

7.3 is a great motor, I wouldnt deny that my friend, my work truck is a 02 with a 7.3, 300k miles and it still does its job well with 10k lbs to lug around. It still gets better mpg than my other 13'...
