Your truck looks awesome now!!! I'm so gonna do mine this weekend... Just curious about how many cans did you go through to do the bumpers, grill & steps? I'm also gonna do my wheels vs powder coating...

Almost $3 cans... So you're only talking about $20 worth.. Plus tape.

Yes, it works on wheels also... I should have done it instead of spending the money on powde coating the spare set.

This is great. I have been digging around and the vinyl wraps versus paint versus plasti but I am thinking I am going to do same thing for my big girl. This weekend will be work weekend for sure. Doing and EGR/Cooler/DPF delete and while I am at it... do a nice Plasticoat to my bumpers and grill...

I think with my black halo lights and then plasti-grill and plasti-bumper I might be doing a nice stealthy look...

Blackout Betsy

Ok so I got some debadging done and a few things Plasti-coated...

I started with my Cummins badge which I did leave on...

Then I got adventurous and started on the grill

Once it was all buttoned up and cleaned. I was really happy. Eventually I will get that bumper tacked up and get the tailgate side done.

Also wanted to post some close ups so you can see that it is nice and smooth... I will say it removed some of the detail of the Cummins badge but I think I'm good with it...

As for this Plasti Dip, I am considering this for my grill considering I am getting that "infamous" chrome bubbling of the grill piece. That said, I would replace it with another one but everyone I have talked to said that they all eventually will do this.

As a result, I am thinking serioulsy about fixing the problem with the Plasti Dip. That said, do I need to sand the chrome off my current grill? How much, (if at all) did you have to scuff it up prior to or what?
I guess in my case I would have to do something of this nature considering the bubbling is obvioulsy not a smooth surface now...

Thoughts?

BTW: Your trucks look great with the P-Dip...I would have never thought something out of a can would have turned out so well!

Actually I didn't scuff anything up. Just cleaned really well. Allowed to dry and spray right on. The great thing about P-Dip is that its peel-able if you don't like it. Now as for the bubbling I had a little on mine as well, but I just plasti overed it and though its still there definitely less noticeable when blacked out

NO need to scuff or sand anythig.. Just needs to be clean!

The whole point behind Plasti Dip is that it's totally reversable and can be removed if you don't like it or change your mind..

Very Good...
That being said, how well does it hold up? Does it hold pretty well to debris and such? I figure even if it gets "nicked" you just simply add some touch-up spray...?
Again, thanks for the info guys....as I said, I can't beleive how good that stuff looks when applied!
