DTR's 'Go to Guy'

Engine temp rises after being shut off. With coolant temps in the 180 range they go up to 230 or so after being shut off. Oil temps are higher than that. I would say its normal. Also the hose on the oil cooler being reversed wouldn't make that much difference I don't think.

oil
id say thats normal oil get hot in there i change oil in big rigs all the time and if you dont watch it you get burned and believe me old black oil burns like

The engine oil cooler is internal, it's part of the filter mount so you can't hook it up wrong. The cooler on the side of the engine is for the trans. The engine oil is not going to be any cooler than the coolant - would you be surprised if the upper radiator hose was hot after driving?
