Hover thread title preview

Just curious if we can get this feature? I love it for threads that are vaguely titled such as "Well it happened" or "What is this"

Some people will argue that it only takes a few seconds to open the thread and see if you are interested in it, but I find this feature to be very helpful and since most other forums I visit use it, I find myself trying to hover over thread titles here.

I have to be honest. I'm not a big fan of this feature because I hate it when the popup comes up and I'm trying to read something else. I'm willing to listen to some feedback here though in terms of what the majority thinks. I don't know yet if I'll implement it. I removed it a long time ago because of this. Let me know your thoughts, folks.

I dislike it as well for the same reason you stated, it annoys me when the little box pops up. I have to read the post anyway, so that may taint my opinion a little.

Is there a hack that allows this to be a user-defined preference? Then people could choose whether they want it or not. Just wasn't sure if this was doable on the forum software.

I believe this is one of those love it or hate type of things. I personally don't like it much. I found it annoying when I am looking at thread titles. If there was a way to implement it as a user selectable option, then it would work just fine.

For now, it's either all or nothing. I wish it was different but that might change in a newer version.

Jack, Lary, and Jr, I dont want to step on any toes here, but I am going to throw this out there.

I dont like the pop up thing either, like on some sites.

However, if you are using firefox, you can download an extension called cooliris that allows you to open the thread in another window type deal, and you can see if you want to read the whole thing or not.

Just an idea for those who want this type of pop up, so they can preview the threads.

I like the pop up and it's the main reason why I don't look at this site too often and pefer the TDR. I can read most of the threads just by seeing what the first couple lines are and then clicking on the thread if it looks interesting. Takes me maybe 15 mins to look through 15-20 pages of threads.

I like the hover feature on thread titles, because it helps explain very vague thread titles.

I like it and wished it was here. It would save me time and my wife would like THAT. LOL!

I like it also... not having that feature here makes browsing a little slow and awkward

A great alternate solution is to get people to stop titling a thread with some generic " Hey Check this out" and actually let a member see the subject of what you're posting.

It must be installed now Cuz I'm gettin the mouseovers.
