Tuner w/ Best Mileage
 

Im kinda new to the diesel engine and was looking to get a little better mileage on my 2005 3/4. Im sure to get some more power with a tuner since you cant buy a tuner without getting more power. So which "box" will get me the better mileage and power safely. And the mileage is more of a concern to me then power cause i do tow but the majority of the loads i haul arent terribly heavy, just a ski boat or 16' flatbed trailer with some junk on it. Thanks for the help guys

Your best two will be the Banks Six-Gun (reallllly safe) or an Edge Juice w/Attitude (built in gauges and slip defueling). Both have multiply levels that can be adjusted on the fly.....

I am in the same boat as you so to speak. Wanted better mileage and a little more power so after looking around and reading every post I could find (and there are a lot of them) I decided to order the quad xzt box. Best bang for the buck from what I have read. Still waiting for it to come in, UPS lost the first order [verymad] . I will be adding gauges soon, kinda working backwards on this but thats how I work sometimes. [dummy] That's just my .02

Got my xzt box a couple of day ago. Cannot tell how it works as we have gotten 4 feet of snow this week.

I second the above post. Quad XZT box. I got mine mid summer this year. Gained 1-2 mpg after installing it. and believe me you notice a difference with it so you may initally put your foot into it a bit more. Have had no problems other than a minor surge/miss above 75 mph and after sending it in for a reflash no problems at all. I have found Quad to be right up front with his products and he posts regularly on this board. Call Larry Ellis on this board and if you choose to order this $300 box order from him and save a few bucks as a member. Very easy install, about 30 minutes if you are mechanically challenged, other wise about 10 minutes. Hardest parts are figuring how to release existing wiring plugs and poking a hole through the rubber grommet in the firewall. Ratings for the 600 engine are aprox 65 HP and 150+ torque increase. It is programes for towing so it is mostly apparent low and mid range areas. I'm sure that it makes differences elsewhere but the above are the most noticiable areas.

I've got the quadzilla and other than having promblems with the connecters at first no promblems with the box on I dop not get the mileage boost better with the box off. But the power is very good and smooth on all settings my fav is the 100 hp it really goes!!! I also had the Predater 80 hp on my last trk, now that one was a stick, 03 model but it was rigged the same except the trans and it got 23 mpgs on the highway my current gets only 19 which is't to bad I wish it was better, [duhhh] no promblems with either box!

BDDL gave me a solid 2 mpg gain (on tow mode as compared to stock) when towing my 28' box trailer with 6 bikes to Daytona in October
