6 Spd Fluid Drain ???
i cant find a drain plug on my trans.do i pull the pto cover, the bottom of the trans.case is lower than the bottom of the pto opening.whats the deal, stand the truck on its nose

You can park the truck on a downslope and use the bottom pto cover bolt as a drain. Once you get most of the fluid out, take off the cover and use a rag to sop up what ever is left. As for filling it, you have to use a pump and pump the fluid in from the top pto cover bolt. Or if you have nothing but time on your hands, you can remove the shifter and fill from there, thats what I did when I did my clutch swap.
Don't forget to remove and clean the magnet once you take the pto cover off. You'd be suprised how "dirty" that thing can get. |
thanks for the info.... why cant i fill through the inspection plug hole

I got a 6 foot long tube and a funnel and filled out by the hood... Lot easier than pull the stick out or trying to pump it in the inspection hole...
Why work harder??? Work smarter! [whistle] |
