More that one egt guage

Is there any way to use the same hole in the maniflod to read 2 egt guages. I Have the outlook but would also like to put an actual guage for safe measure. I really dont want to drill another hole and i want it to be pre turbo. I have a 1/4 inch pipe now and was wondering if there was any kinda daul thermolcouple are if ther is anything close. I also would like to leave the outlook reading pre to for acurate defueling.

I have 2 EGT gauges. One on the pillar and another that has to feed the PM3 brain box. They are drilled and tapped seperately.

When the pillar analog gauge gets hot in a hurry the digital gets wacky. It's been my experience that digital EGT gauges work well only when EGT's don't rise or decline too quickly. Cruising steady on the highway both gauges agree. Accellerating hard off the line the digital goes nuts once it exceeds 1000F.

You had to drill 2 holes though??? That wackyness is exactly what im talkin about. I was hopin that they made a 1/4 inch fitting that would except 2 thermocouples.

It's really not a big deal. If you want an analog in addition to your digital that is what it takes.

I have two and love it...one for the back and on for the front halves of the motor.

Same here. One on the front three, one on the back three, and one in the hot pipe between turbos. Lots of numbers to look at. For what it is worth, the Outlook Monitor's EGT seems accurate.

i beleive that it is acurate, it is just hard to read because the numbers change so fast. The anolog guages are just so much eaiser to read

AK RAM Apr 13, 2005 02:42 PM

True...true. While not to fast for me, they do move pretty fast.
