ABS and Brake light on.
I have just encountered a problem that I hope someone here with a little more knowledge than me ( which would'nt take much ) can help me with. I was recently driving on the freeway and all of the sudden both my ABS and Brake light came on . No codes showed up however. Now it won't shut off. Brakes seem to work fine. I thought the E-brake may have stuck on but that was'nt the case.
I think I should add I live 2.5 miles up over a mountain and it is a dirt/ muddy road that is traveled daily. Maybe there is some dirt ( hopefully) On a wheel sensor or something. My wife drives this truck daily with the 2 small children in it and needless to say loosing the brakes wouild not be good . Any help would be great... |
I had the same problem with my truck. It wasnt a big deal to me except i couldnt use the cruise control with them on. I was told it was the abs sensor on the top of the rear axle. All i did was unplugged it and cleaned it out good with an air hose but some may be worse then what mine was. It works fine ever since.

Hey thanks . I was hoping that would be the case. I will be taking to my buddies bodyshop and try and blow it out.

Mine is also doing the same thing, except it wasn't the sensor. Turned out to be the rear wheel abs computer. Dealer only item very $$$$.:(

Both of mine are on too. The code says it's the RF wheel ABS sensor.

My 12V was doing the same thing, not sure if they are the same. ABS/brake light and no cruise! The fix cost 50c. There was a small hole in a vacum line under the driver side battery that is connected to the cruise module. I just cut the damaged section out and used a straight connector from NAPA, lights out and cruise control working perfectly! If only all fixes were so cheap and simple!!!!

Speed sensor
My brake light,ABS Light,Speed odometer was out, cruise control would not work.$50.00 Speed sensor.
Hope this help's |
