gauges
Am installing a new set of gauges and I wonder where these things SHOULD read. Got a pyro, trans temp and boost. The truck is pretty stock except for Dbox and K&N air filter. Will mount the pyro sensor aftrer turbo. Anybody got info on where there rigs run under different conditions? Thanks all

Re:gauges
You should include what type of truck you have if you want accurate answers to your questions. I'm sure you just forgot.

Re:gauges
Factory: 20 boost, 600, 1200 on the pyro.
The harder you push the go pedal the higher the pyro. Factory it should not exceed about 1300 or so. If bombed you should be ok unless your towing or are heavely bombed. The boost can got as high as you want with the right boost elbow. You have to set the boost elbow with your mods, and you can have a nice running truck, thats effeciant. Kimrey |
Re:gauges
Post turbo the egt's should read no more than 950. With post egt, shut down at 275-300.

Re:gauges
I'd also suggest adding a fuel pressure gauge.
Lift pumps have a way of dieing without giving symptoms. This will seriously shorten the life of your injection pump. Tranny temps: Warm weather in traffic- ~180* Highway speeds warm weather-~ 120-140* Hot Summer in traffic with AC-~200* Towing on hills- watch the gauge. This is what I'm seeing. Here's some good info. http://www.prolinetrailers.com/image...transchart.gif |
Re:gauges
Great info S.H.
I wish I had put a tranny gauge in before my tranny started slipping |
