Rear bumper replacement sources
 

Looking to put a new stock rear bumper on a 91 LE W250. Please let me know any sources or vendors that you would recommend for that. Much appreciated!

I've seen some available through Napa for about $300. See if this link works for you. If not, enter your truck info at the top. Look through the list on the left and find "Vision, Safety & Misc. Interior/Exterior Parts" and finally, "Bumpers & Mud Flaps."

Thanks. The BK 3003436 is the closest NAPA bumper in appearance to a stock 1st gen bumper there. With shipping about $350. Unless it is a factory stock bumper it looks like they all need their own bracket set as well which puts the price over $400. At that price point, trying to get a decent shape used might be the better option. Any source ideas for used on these 1st gen bumpers? Already spoke with Mark Nixon.

I guess LKQ is the used side and keystone is the new aftermarket side of the company. If they have a local outlet then give them a call and see what they can find for you.

Rock auto lists a few as well with various finishes, shipping on some of them are not too bad while others listed there double the price.

I replaced the flimsy OEM bumpers with heavy-duty custom bumpers from REUNEL.

the rear towing bumper is $450 and it is mounted to the frame with MASSIVE flanges and through-bolts. I tow my 3.5 ton boat & trailer from a 2" receiver mounted in the bumper with no problem

That is a really nice bumper. However, I already have a frame mounted receiver hitch and they do not make those without the integrated receiver. If they did, it would be on option

Thanks for the referral. I called and only the FEY aftermarket is an option. About $360 with required FEY bracket kit. I wish I could find a decent used stock bumper and use my existing factory brackets. Prefer to keep it stock if possible.

soot, unless you just bought the receiver hitch, this bumper provides a much sturdier towing platform

I had a Reese hitch too, but removed it in favor of this

I wasn't even sure the Reese hitch's capacity was high enough for my boat and trailer, and I couldn't take the chance of failure

on Monday I backed into a telephone pole with the last 8" of the bumper. the impact would have crumpled the OEM bumper but the Reunel didn't even bend a millimeter...they're made with 3/8" steel, strong as all get out

I have one that is way above avg, but shipping would kill ya.

it is very strait, not twisted, but has three very very small dings.

If I had the time, I definately would. I have a Lincoln Electric arc welder and lots of steel left over from projects over the years. Always comes down to time it seems.

That bumper looks great by the way. For our 91, I would build the same design as yours less the integrated receiver. I would just leave out the receiver and raise up the platform for a drop step. Nice, simple lines and not overly done. Let me know if you have got one like that on the shelf ready to ship out [laugh]
