2wd Sway Bar Diameter/End Link Bushings - Replacement
Hi All,
I'm looking to go to polyurethane bushings for my front sway bar mounts and end links. I've used Energy bushings on other trucks, but will have to go with Energy universal sizing for this project, as they don't have a vehicle specific set of bushings per their website catalog. So, I need to know the diameter of the of the stock sway bar on my 2004, 2wd, 3500. I don't have calipers, so I don't have a good way to determine the exact diameter. If anyone out there can provide this info, along with the size of the end link bushings needed, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
Got a set of open end wrenches? They're pretty good for measuring the diameter.

I measured mine, 1.18" (30mm).

MikeyB - Did you swap out your rubber bushings for polyurethane ones? Did you use polyurethane end link bushings?
If so, I would love to know what brand/size you went with. Thanks |
Mine needs this done, too. Have upgraded our two 2WD Jeeps this way as well as other cars in past. Poly bushings here, and on shocks, is a noticeable upgrade for steering precision.

If so, I would love to know what brand/size you went with. Thanks I did have to replace both end links a few months ago, not because of the bushings but from the ball joints being worn out and rattling. I went aftermarket using Deeza. MikeyB |
