getrag 2wd to 4x4
 

Does anyone know if it possible to take a 2wd getrag and swap the tail shaft for the transfer case adaptor? Or would I also have to change anything else? I am thinking about buying a 2wd trans because thats all I can find. I have a tail shaft piece along with a collar that slides over the splines. Thanks for all info! Robert

If you already have the 4X4 tailshaft and adapter housing then you can build what you need off a 2wd trans.

Yes it is possible to change a 2wd Getrag into a 4x4. The parts you will need from a 4x4 transmission are:

1.) 4x4 GetrageTailhousing

2.) 4x4 Getrag Mainshaft
