Disconnect batteries or no?

I've got a bit of welding to do on my sled deck, and since it's in my box i'm wondering if you guys think it's a problem leaving the batteries connected? I've got Linex in the box, and the deck is sitting on wood blocks in the box, and no metal contact to the truck. I know the batteries don't take to long to disconnect but it's a pain. Am I risking anything if I leave them connected?

I dont even disconnect the batteries when I weld on the frame.. Just keep the ground close and go at it...
Safer to disconnect.. Probably, but never had an issue

We always disconnected the batteries in the welding shop I worked in. I think it's the safe bet, but I've also forgot to do it and nothing ever happened.
