flat black pictures

Hi everyone, I'm getting bored of the color of my truck, so I'm thinking of painting it flat black and adding black military style wheels..the assault vehicle look. I'm trying to get an idea of how my truck would look, does anyone have any pics of flat back 12 valves? Thanks

William

One word of caution. I have seen many ghetto, rattle can flat black paint jobs. As appealing as the cost factor of this is IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP. There is no way to get it even and the job always comes out blotchy. If you plan on having it sprayed then sure go for it. Also, if your body isn't mint, flat black will advertise every little flaw in the metal more than you can imagine.

If you are serious about it, look into getting your paint from Harley Davidson, the "black denum" color looks good and doesn't look blotchy

OC- there's a guy in San Diego who sells a paint called "flatz". It's a satin-finished single stage 2-part paint that sprays on, lays down and dries with no shiny. My father in law sprayed a 47 Ford 1/2 ton in military olive drab with a harbor freight cheapo spray rig and it looked almost great. It's not blotchy and it's been over a year. Guy's on ebay (if I can say that- I have no affiliation with him other than buying a gallon of the stuff over a year ago) just search for "flatz". It comes in, like, 30 colors.

That sound better than the Harley paint only cause Harley gets about $58 per quart for their paint.

I thought everything at Harley was $100.00 :)

I dont think I would like flat black on a truck

Yeah, flat black paint + Cali summer = solar oven.

They are all cars, but it gives you an idea of what you can do if you have it done professionally. Most of these cars are satin or matte, but not flat black. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...icial%26sa%3DG

Thanks what taking about. I saw a picture of a matte black Porsche Cayenne, and it gave me the idea of doing it to my truck. Matte Black, black Humvee style wheels and tires, Limo black tint, a 7 inch dual stacks, xenon lights...the type of vehicle that the grim reaper would drive:).

If I had a dodge daily driver again and wanted to paint it, I'd do limelight green with a flatblack hood and flat black bumble bee stripe around the back of the bed with the cummins symbol in it (you can get them). You get the flat black look without the whole truck being it. Limelight is classic mopar. You do what you want but that's what I'd do. Flatblack stacks, tinted out and black wheels.
